Main info:

If item is created with Unit of Measure – inventory is tracked by the unit of measure (Such as # of Cases, items can be received individually – as by the bottle (Receiving) or by the case (PO)

How to receive by the Case:

Receive by the Case from Purchase Order screen or Receiving “Z”  (Function id 1071 needs to be added)

Setup to report inventory by "Case":

On CAS, Create unit of measurement (Case = 12 Bottles)

Create item with cost/sales price of individual bottle, include Unit of Measure on the item (“Case”)

This will tell the system to report inventory by the case

When you Receive inventory, use Unit of measurement (receive 3 cases). If you receive by the individual bottle, the inventory will still be tracked in cases.

System sells individually and and tracks inventory by the case (Make sure that the selling price is set on the item is for the individual unit price)

Scenario 1: Buy in Case, sell bottle, 6 pack and case. Cashier sees all three size options at Register

Use the UPC for Single and create packages for Q 6 and Q 12 (with different ItemID’s).

At the POS, when the UPC is swiped all three size options will display and the cashier selects which one is being sold.
