Firmware Reset PAX (S300)
This article provides instructions to reset the PAX fimrware on a S300. If there is a firmware update for a new feature made by PAX, this is the only way to take that update.
Step 1: Unplug the pax machine if it is plugged in and plug it back in.
Step 2: Press the blue Function (F) over and over until you see a screen with a header saying "S300 PCI PED 4".
Note: You can also try pressing the screen MENU button over and over during the bootup process.
Step 3: On the screen press the menu button to bring up a list of choices
Step 4: Press 4 to choose RemoteDownload
Step 5: Press 1 to choose NewDownload
Step 6: Press 1 to choose TCP
Step 7: Enter the 216.238.144.195 Note the dots, to enter a dot you must press 1 followed by the ALPHA key. Press the green enter button when done.
Step 8: Enter 8582 as the port and press the green enter button.
Step 9: Press 1 to choose DHCP.
Step 10: Enter 30030030 as the TerminalID
Step 11: The Machine will go through various updates. When asked, reboot it by unplugging and plugging it back in.
Step 12: The machine will begin installing the new firmware and look for the latest BroadPOS data and install it. It will reboot several times in the process.
