OVERVIEW:
The system allows for you to specify different units of measurement for each item in your stock.
Examples include purchasing a case of candy bars and selling them individually, you want to be able to complete your Purchase Order by the Case and sell the individual candies.
| How to create an Unit of Measurement On CAS go to Management>Inventory Classification - UNITS Provide a Name of the Unit (Such as CASE) Provide the number of units in the Unit (Such as 12 bottles in a CASE) SAVE | ![]() |
| How to use Unit of Measurement The unit of measurement is available on the following screens 1) Master Item - On the item, set the unit. This will show the inventory in the unit (36 bottles will display on the Inventory Balance Report as 3 (3 cases is 36 bottles). If you want to see the inventory by the bottle, DO NOT add the Unit on the Master Item 2) Purchase Order - When creating a Purchase Order, products can be purchased using the Units.
