OVERVIEW:
The system allows for you to specify different units of measurement for each item in your stock.
Examples include purchasing a case of candy bars and selling them individually, you want to be able to complete your Purchase Order by the Case and sell the individual candies.
How to create an Unit of Measurement On CAS go to Management>Inventory Classification - UNITS Provide a Name of the Unit (Such as CASE) Provide the number of units in the Unit (Such as 12 bottles in a CASE) SAVE | |
How to use Unit of Measurement The unit of measurement is available on the following screens 1) Master Item - On the item, set the unit. This will show the inventory in the unit (36 bottles will display on the Inventory Balance Report as 3 (3 cases is 36 bottles). If you want to see the inventory by the bottle, DO NOT add the Unit on the Master Item 2) Purchase Order - When creating a Purchase Order, products can be purchased using the Units.
